Long long ago, the Dragon King of the Eastern Sea was left with no son and heir to succeed him. He had only a daughter called “Princess Kavalan”. Because of the early death of his wife, Dragon King doted on this only close relative very much. In Princess Kavalan, Dragon King saw the living reincarnation of his wife .Furthermore, he doted her so much in order to make up for his neglect of the family life in the past.

Dragon King wanted the Princess Kavalan to study at the school for aristocrats and then to many her dragon cousin, who is blue-blooded but foolish and dull. Nevertheless, Princess Kavalan .would not do so. She chose to study at a school for common folks. Her classmates varied in talent and virtue but remained lovable all the same. There she met a fellow student who was a sea turtle named “Lu-sheng”. They fell in love with each other. Yet the burgeoning love between the two different breeds offended Dragon King, who believed that only the pure dragon breed had the right to throne the king of the Eastern Kingdom.

Because of Dragon King’s opposition, Princess and Lu-sheng eloped. They left the ocean and came to the dry land. There they met the human being. They learned how to become and led a simple. Happy life. Princess gave birth to a son and they named him “Ho-Ping”. It was not until Dragon King discovered them that he mobilized all his cohorts to seize them. The flood inundated the dry land. People absconded for surviving. Neither the princess nor Lu-sheng could stand the sight of this, so they beg Dragon King to appease the tidewater. Lu-sheng and Ho-ping were both transformed by King’s magic wand into stone island, abandoned in the midst of the sea. One is that we now called Turtle Mountain Island and the other one Hoping Island. The enraged King also ordered the soldiers of shrimp and crab to shove the fossilized Lu-sheng as far in the sea as possible.（This is why there is always an abundance of fish and shrimp in the sea area between Lang yang Plain and the Turtle Mountain Island）

Dragon King thought that he regained his daughter with his mighty power. But the princess, with deep grief, fetched out the Green Pearl that her deceased mother left for her and transformed herself into a green plain, which is now we called Lang yang Plain.

The king regretted so much for all what he had done. But it was too late. He lost his daughter. One day, he tossed down his golden regal wand （which was transformed into the Golden Face Mountain on the Bei Yi Highway）and transformed himself into the range of mountains encircling Lang yang Plain. He would never return to his Kingdom forever……

The sea waves keep lashing the Plain, as if they were calling Princess Kavalan’s name. The princess, who misses her husband and son every day and night and hope to keep them from exposing to the wind and the sun, weaves straw hats for them.（so whenever we see clouds like a bamboo hat covering the top of Turtle Mountain Island, we know it would rain very soon）. Meanwhile, Princess cries when thinking of her beloved husband and son this is why Lang yang Plain has such an abundance of rainfall every year.

When will the fossilized Lu-sheng and Ho-ping be awaked and return to the life on the earth？？When is the time for the family to reunite？
